SUMMARY:  At the March 15, 2004 meeting, the Board considered a Consent Calendar request to approve purchase of a multi-function copier for the Water Demand Division.  The Board directed staff to obtain additional information about leasing copy machines or purchasing individual components and to determine what hardship would occur if one or more components of the multi-function copier broke down.  Staff was asked to return with this information at the next meeting.

 

Staff has prepared a staff report for consideration by the Administrative Committee that responds to the Board’s inquiries.  The staff report is attached as Exhibit A-1.  The Water Demand Committee is asked to review the information and make a recommendation as the equipment requested directly supports the Water Demand Division’s permitting and conservation functions, including the current effort to convert the filing system to an Assessor Parcel Number based system and to have property information and related documents available through the new database system.

 

RECOMMENDATION:  Staff recommends the Water Demand Division recommend purchase of a multi-function copier.  Leasing the copier or purchasing individual components is more costly.
